A Level Results DayPosted on: 15 Aug 2019
The Misbourne is really pleased with this year’s Sixth Form results, which have seen an overall increase in A Level attainment.
97% of Year 13 students achieved a Level 3 pass or better with 58% of entries gaining the higher grades A*-C at A Level and 87% of all Vocational grades awarded the highest grades of Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.
Staff celebrated many wonderful achievements with students and their families last week. One student achieved an outstanding A*AA for her 3 A Levels and five other students could not hold back their delight as they opened their envelopes to reveal a combination of AAB grades.
‘I am so proud of what our young people have achieved across all ability levels and qualifications. Their outcomes are a fitting reward for the determination to succeed which they have shown throughout their time with us. They deserve every success both now and in the future. I would like to thank all of the staff for their ambition and dedication in providing both support and challenge for each and every student to achieve their very best. I am extremely proud of our Academy and look forward to building on these results over the next few years.' Jo Meloni, Headteacher.
Many students have now confirmed their places at Universities around the country, or places on Apprenticeship schemes. Some have chosen to go straight into employment and a small group are taking a well-earned gap year before continuing on to higher education, employment or training in 2020. Whatever their next steps, we wish them well and look forward to hearing about their achievements in years to come.
